Setting up a Bin 16.2.2

We need to set up a bin so we can keep our clips organised. There are 3 ways to set up a bin in final cut pro

The first is to right click where the clips are and select New Bin.

The second way is to select file, new, bin.

And the third is simply to click cmd + B on the keyboard.

When you make a new bin it'll appear like this.

You can rename the bin.
To put folders into the bin you can drag them into the bin.

16.2.1 Setting up a scratch disk

We need to have a scratch disk because it's a central point where all your work can be saved you.
First of all, set up a holder where you want your scratch disk to be.

Then open up final cut pro and select final cut pro in the menu bar at the top, then select system settings...

Then this menu will appear. First of all select the first set... you see and select your folder where you want to save the scratch disk in.

Afterwards next to Waveform Cache click set and again to the same folder you want your scratch disk in.

This is what it will look like when you want to select a folder. You then click choose to select the folder.

Then click set next to Thumbnail Cache and Autosave Vault. Afterwards it should look something like this.

Once this is done select OK and you will have set up a scratch disk.
