New Ident
After talking to our teacher we found that our ident wasn't the best it could be, so we decided to re make it but using a different form of animation and changing the storyline.
We chose the storyline of someone walking the class then reversing to see our college because we thought it gave a good mix of entertainment, like using the wand to get the ID pass and bag, and informing the viewer what the college looks like.
We didn't show the official college logo, however we did show the outside of the college which has the words "city of westminister college" so we thought this would be appropriate.
I think overall this is a much better ident because it's of a good quality, it represents the college better (as it shows a real student and the college it's self)

Short Film
From peer assessment I can say that the film it's self was well received. Their particular highlights of the film was how it was put together, so the colour grading and music.
One point that was made was the characters lacked depth but I would have to disagree with that. In the script they had clear personalities but that got lost in filming, we also didn't use professional actors in our film so I think that may be partly to blame for that.
Overall I'm really proud of our film. I think we worked well as a team, we all had different jobs but we worked together to come up with ideas, we had a good group dynamic.
If we had a chance to do it again I would make the scenes shorter, I thought the film was suppose to be 10 minutes but it was actually 5 which lead to us skipping an entire scene, leaving it on a cliffhanger. I also think we should have got professional actors and allowed them time to learn the script before coming on set.
Another problem we faced was that the location we filmed on was very far to get to so it took up valuable time.
Overall though I think the film is fun to watch and is well put together, plus you can tell what's going on throughout. As a first film I think it's gone really well and I'm proud of what we all created.

Big Fat Gypsy Weddings is a program that was shown on Channel 4 that explores the lives and traditions of Irish Traveller families.

The program was very controversial as many gypsy families said that is was mis informing the public about their life style, and the program has been described as racially motivated bullying.
The biggest controversy was when the advertisement for the new series was "Bigger, Fatter, Gypsier" which caused many people to complain to the advertising standards authority.

TV, Film and Technology
Describe the expansion of multi channel TV in the UK (when it happened and which channel came first)
In 1998 Sky's digital service was introduced, which meant lots of new channels such as sky sport and american channels which weren't previously accessible.
Again I think it gives people more choice in what they want to watch. Also it means some people might just watch films for the sake of watching them, because they can. Which overall is good for film companies.

Since the expansion of channels it's meant people have had a lot more choice in what they want to watch. This means that channels have become more competitive with one and other because they're fighting for regular viewers.
In terms of employment and revenue it's meant that more people are employed to advertise the channels and more effort is put in the keeping the audience they already have.
It also means that channels are more like businesses and they want to get money out of it.
